A Testimony of God’s Miracles

Pueblo de Panay Township is also host to a religious landmark – the Sacred Heart of Jesus Shrine. Commonly called The Shrine by the locals, the 102-foot (31 meters) Sacred Heart of Jesus Shrine, mounted on a 30-foot (9 meters) pedestal on top of a 366-foot hill (112 meters), in Pueblo de Panay Township is the tallest statue of Jesus in the Philippines, and the fourth tallest in the world.

Construction of the image began in the last quarter of 2011 and was completed on January 5, 2015. His Excellency Archbishop Jose Advincula, D.D. blessed the image on June 12, 2015, during the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with co-celebrants Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Eugenio Caldeo, Jr. and guest priests.

The Shrine is a symbol of PDPI’S gratitude to Jesus Christ for the blessings and guidance that He provided in putting together as one piece this Pueblo de Panay Township.  The Ong family is of the firm belief that so many land titles could not have been gathered together as one contiguous land if not for the mandate from the Lord.  Presently, the Shrine serves as a center of healing under the supervision of the Catholic Church.  Healing sessions and Holy Masses are held regularly at the Shrine.

In time, the plain at the top of this mountain will be the location of a Catholic church, supporting amenities, and a garden of peace and prayer.
