Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City – ePerformax Contact Centers and BPO officially announced their presence in Roxas City last June 15, 2018 during their Grand Opening in Pueblo de Panay Township. First opening their doors on Philippine shores back in 2002, ePerformax Contact Centers & BPO was one of the first contact centers in the country. The company has primarily focused its operations on providing the highest levels of BPO and customer service to a select group of Fortune 500 companies. This new site, ePerformax’s third in the country, is further proof of the company’s continued commitment to helping the Philippines grow and develop as one of the leading BPO service providers in the world.
ePerformax was welcomed to Roxas City by none other than former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, who was also the Congressman of the 1st District of Capiz from 1993 to 2000. Roxas welcomed them and thanked them for bringing their business to Capiz, thereby contributing to the province’s economy and helping Capiznons realize their dreams. “… you are giving us a way, where the dreams, the futures of all these young men and women here whom you have recruited, and will be recruiting, will now have a realistic chance of coming true.” Roxas, recognized in the Philippines as the Father of the BPO industry due to his efforts as DTI secretary when the industry first came to the country in the early 2000s, stressed the significant contributions of BPOs to the local economy by comparing its impact to that of the agri-fishery industry. According to his computations while waiting for his flight, 200 BPO employees will roughly earn three million pesos a month, or 36 million a year – an amount equivalent to what 30 hectares of fishponds and hard manual labor can earn in a year. “And in a fishpond”, he added. “The owner of the fishpond earns. The laborers, not very many, earn a bit. Here (in a BPO), hundreds of young men and women are going to earn. They’re going to plough that back into our local economy, they’re going to build their lives, they’re going to invest in homes, invest in their children, invest in their futures, invest in small business, and that will be a very dynamic element.”
Teresa Hartsaw, President and CEO of ePerformax, looks forward to the company becoming a long-term partner in growing and developing Roxas City. “We want to be more than mere employers here. We want to become stakeholders in this vibrant community as well,” she pointed out. “ePerformax will provide long-term growth and career opportunities for all employees while ensuring that there is adequate work-life balance and integration. In today’s work environment, there has to be a partnership between the employee and the company and the community to really be successful. We are very excited about being part of Roxas City and Pueblo de Panay and creating a family environment and looking out for the well-being of everyone involved.”
ePerformax’s Grand Opening is the culmination of the partnership of ePerformax and Pueblo de Panay which started three years ago. According to Jose Nery Ong, President and CEO of Pueblo de Panay, “Three years ago, when we first met and discussed the possibilities of doing business together, although I already had high expectations then, I have to say that ePerformax has surpassed all our expectations when it comes to facilities, work ethics, partnerships, and most especially the opportunities and care they provide to their employees. When we signed the contract a couple of years ago, I believed that ePerformax was the best company to take care of our people here. I was right. They have proven this fact in their actions many times over, and I thank ePerformax for being a great employer to our people in Capiz and neighboring provinces.”
Pueblo de Panay Township, home to ePerformax Roxas, is the largest township development in Central Visayas. A 670-hectare flagship project of Pueblo de Panay, Incorporated (PDPI), it was master planned by Surbana Jurong, a Singaporean government-owned consultancy company focusing on infrastructure and urban development. A mixed-use, master planned, and Filipino-inspired township located in the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, Roxas City, it has designated areas for different uses seamlessly integrated to one another. It is a place where people can live, work, relax, and have fun; a place that embodies PDPI’s advocacy – LIFE.WORK.BALANCE.
In their press release, ePerformax has stated that Pueblo de Panay is the perfect partner for ePerformax’s goal to create a holistic working environment for their employees. “It's so refreshing to do business with people of like mind. We really have a shared vision for making this area, Roxas City, better. It's a beautiful place, there's talented people... The fact that we are here, and we're going to grow in Roxas City and help support this community, this makes me feel very warm and very good about what we do,” said Hartsaw.
The future, indeed, is looking bright for Capiznons. With ePerformax’s entry in Roxas City, more job opportunities are expected to be created in the province of Capiz. And this is not the end; more things are to come, as envisioned by Ong. “Truth be told, although we are celebrating a great milestone today, this is really just the beginning of a long journey towards greater projects. Expect more to come in the next few years from Pueblo de Panay. With ePerformax, and with all of you supporting us, I have no doubt we can make things happen.”
