Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City -- For the first time after 9 years, the National MILO Marathon held a marathon leg in Roxas City. Through the efforts of the Rotary Club of Roxas, the 41st National MILO Marathon – Roxas Leg was held in Pueblo de Panay Township last October 1, 2017.
The National MILO Marathon is said to be the country’s biggest running event and has been going on for over 40 years. According to Nestle, it is a reflection of their purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future. In addition, a portion of the registration fees collected during the marathon is used for MILO’s Help Give Shoes program which provides public school students with running shoes.
Over 3,000 participants flocked to Pueblo de Panay Township on the said date to join the 41st National MILO Marathon – Roxas Leg. And out of the fifty-eight (58) runners who joined the 21K Qualifying Race, thirty (30) were qualified to run in the 42K National MILO Marathon Finals which will be held in Cebu City on December 3, 2017.
