Mr. Jose Nery Ong (left), CEO of Pueblo de Panay, Inc., and Mr. Derrick Heng (right), Senior Advisor of Globe myBusiness Group, seal the deal with a handshake.

Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City – Pueblo de Panay, Inc. (PDPI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Innove Communications, Inc. (Globe Telecom), at the Circulo Convention Center in Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City, last August 26, 2017. With this partnership, Globe Telecom will be laying out a fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure inside Pueblo de Panay Township within the year. “It’s going to be soon. Before the year ends. This township is going to be wired with the best fiber optic technology,” assures Mr. Derrick Heng, Senior Advisor of Globe myBusiness Group.

A 500-hectare flagship project of PDPI, Pueblo de Panay Township is the largest township development in the Visayas region of the Philippines. A mixed-use, master planned, and Filipino-inspired township located in the Seafood Capital of the Philippines, Roxas City, it was master planned by Surbana Jurong, a Singaporean government-owned consultancy company focusing on infrastructure and urban development.

Pueblo de Panay Township is envisioned to be a major player in the Philippines’ economic and social advancement. PDPI’s partnership with Globe Telecom, a major provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines, contributes to PDPI’s advocacy of countryside development.  “With the rapid growth and development happening in Pueblo de Panay, there is a demand for more complex telecommunications. Globe Telecom finally coming in as a partner, to provide additional telecommunications facilities in Pueblo de Panay, will ensure that these needs will be addressed,” says Mr. Jose Nery D. Ong, CEO of PDPI.

Pueblo de Panay also signed a partnership agreement with another telecommunications company, the PLDT, last March 2017, to extend the latter’s existing fiber optic cable (FOC) within the township. “Additional communications facilities are needed in the Township to ensure uninterrupted internet connection for clients requiring 24×7 connectivity or whose service cannot afford to go offline even for a few seconds,” adds Ms. Emily Pagador, IT Manager of Pueblo de Panay.

FOC is a cable containing one or more optical fibers that are used to carry light. The optical fiber elements are typically individually coated with plastic layers and contained in a protective tube suitable for the environment where the cable will be deployed. (Wikipedia). FOC transmission is faster and less prone to signal loss compared to that of a copper cable transmission.  This would result to better business for establishments located in the township as this means they will be able to offer better connectivity to their customers.

This is a welcome development to all the current and future locators of Pueblo de Panay Township, especially to ePerformax Contact Centers & BPO, the Township’s first BPO locator, and Spring Valley, the largest technology and innovation hub in the Philippines.
